Ever since the shooting in Las Vegas, the news media can’t provide enough coverage it seems. 
Reporters keep asking why such a tragedy happened. Of course, many of the talking heads have endless theories and ideas. Hours and hours of television devoted to the shooting. Yes, the tragedy is horrible because lives were changed in the twinkling of an eye. God bless those who are suffering today for the senseless act of one man.
But, the Bible makes clear why things like this happen. Jeremiah wrote, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jer. 17:9). The media outlets are chasing the wind in seeking answers to why. Furthermore, Paul writes, “They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart” (Eph. 4:18). Since mankind is separated from God, we are capable of all sorts of evil. The solution? People need to get saved, and Christ will transform their hearts. Only Jesus can do this, not laws or regulations.
